Design Philosophy

A beautifully decorated space is like magic when it makes you feel something not just see something. One way in which I accomplish this is to design from the rug up, selecting the floor covering first, and pulling colors out of the rug and up onto the furniture and accents in the space. Throughout my journey of becoming an interior decorator I always felt a strong connection to beautiful rugs, a connection which has grown into a passion. I hope that my blog inspires you to explore all different types of decor and rugs, both new and antique.

"I was relocating to a New York rental; downsizing by about 1,000 square feet from a Boston condo.  I felt overwhelmed with all of the decisions around what furniture to keep and which should go?  What about my rug that won't fit in the new living room?  I felt like I had a decent sense of my personal style, but could never quite make everything work together in a way that felt completely coherent.  Elizabeth did a fantastic job identifying the foundational pieces that I already owned that worked well in the new space.  She gained my trust by recommending investing in key statement items while filling in the rest with great looking, but affordable furniture and accessories.  She was organized, efficient, transparent, responsive, and a great listener which made the process a breeze.  I love the end result."    - Client
